5.29s and lockright installed!

I bought a 5.29 diff with a lockright on friday for $500 and got it installed! I already had a front 5.29 diff that I got for $50 so I was set. I took it wheeling yesterday and wow, what a difference. The rear locker makes a night and day difference and works very smooth on the street imo. I ran the 529s with 33's and it felt way fast and the speedometer was reading way faster than I was going. I put my 35's on and now I still think the speedo is reading a little fast but I can easly hit 80mph on the highway. I bet I could do 100. On saturday, I got stock in a mud pit that burried my 35's almost all the way. My dad had to come out with his 02 f350 thats all souped up and he snapped two huge two straps and had alot of trouble getting me out. It was the worst I have ever been stuck by far. I will post pics tonight or tomorow.

That's about the same combo I'm running. You'll find you can go almost as far in 2wd now as you could in 4wd before. Awesome ain't it?

Lockers and gears. Too few people truly understand what a difference they make in a truck.... Welcome to the geared and locked life

Tried any donuts yet?

With my 4.88's and 33's my speedo reads 1-3mph faster depending how fast im going.

I forgot to add: "On the beach!"

And if you do, just hope you don't catch any traction suddenly!

Couple of months I should have my 5.29s and lock right in my 95 T100. I found I can get both sets of gears and locker for under 500.

Back in the early days, I ran 5.29s with 38" Swampers and found the speedometer was almost exact. It was at most 1mph off at 60mph. I also installed a LockRight a few years later and what a difference!!! I started leaving the truck in 2wd until it was stuck just to see how far the locker could get me before dropping it in 4wd. Its also nice to have the manual hubs so I can use the low range and locker on the pavement without tearing up the front gears.
