4x4 dash light quit working

94 p/u 3.0 SR5V6 5-speed

The warning light panel at the bottom of the main cluster seems to be working for at least some of the lights (E-brake for sure) but my 4x4 light does not seem to be working all of the sudden. My question is, are there any other places for me to look before I pull the dash? Or should I just go for it? Fuses all are fine...

Does it have A.D.D?

I believe if the light when out then that means the shift fork in the front diff tube quit working. Search Add or something like that. this has been covered before

I also would check the wire coming from the transfer case first. Easy to just do a visual.

i had a similar problem with my 94 and it was loss of vaccum to the front diff, check your vaccum lines, they start on the passenger side fender well to the front diff, and also check the sensor on the front diff

Have you verrified that the front wheels still lock together?

Id jack the front end up, put the transfercase in 4wd while the truck is on. And get out, and spin one front tire, if the other side spins then the front is indeed engaged.

It's prolly just the bulb. It's not that diffacult to pull the dash. Takes all of maybe 5-10 min.

If the front end is getting power, its the bulb. The dash can be a little hard to take out the first time, but it seriously takes me 2 mins to get out now.

Bulb would be a #74. You could take this oppertunaty to change your dash lights to give a different colour too

Isn't that light on the dash to tell you ADD has engaged as well? There is a sensor on the ADD diff that may be broken.
