4wheelDrive

1988 4runner, 22R-E Automatic

When i am in 4low and wheeling my truck really doesn't like to stop. Even with the brake full on it starts to vibrate really bad and try to push through it, i recently did a complete brake job. Rear = New pads, drums, brake cylinders. Front = New Calipers and Rotors. Also replaced master cylinder. But yeah any ideas on this would be great thanks in advance.

adjusting idle speed would at leastbe a start. It should be done anyway, and might fix your problem, too. Not sure what spec is for a 22RE, though.

Rpm Counter? Must be a foreign word lol. We call it a Tach or Tachometer here haha

btw you should never ever have to adjust the idle speed. They are set from the factory. If its idling high, you have another problem that needs to be addressed.

Well that is possible, but if someone has already messed with it, you may have a hidden problem that is now showing itself.

600 hundred seems a little low. I'd say more like 750 or so. Also are you sure you bled your brakes good when you replaced all that? With weel cylinders, calipers, and master cylinder you could have air in you entire system.. I'd make sure those are bled well, and if you have access to a vacum bleeder or pressure bleeder use those as that will save you some time. just my .02 cents

According to my 89 4Runner V6 automatic, idle is 800rpm, my 86 22RE 5sp is 750.
