4wheel drive light.

Hi this is my first post thanks in advance for your reply.i have a 1994 Toyota pickup Sr5 model, and i notice when i am driving around 50 or 60 miles a hour my 4wheel drive light flashes on and of but does not do it at lower speeds. And yes the 4 wheel drive works goes in and out smoothly.what could be the problem thanks.

I'm not sure how the light is activated but if it's operated by a switch on the transfer case then the switch could be bad. If it's a ground style switch could have a broken wire or shorted wire causing it. Depending on the style of switch.

Either way that is easy to check until someone who knows how the light is activated chimes in

It is a switch mounted on the transfer case similar to the reverse switch on the manual trans.

Wire is broken and shorted, or switch is bad

Should be easy to find and fix as is the only electrical connection on the transfer case.
