Maybe that's why you need to "bring a trailer"

The 4r with visible frame rot sold for $8,500.
Here’s the next one... high mileage but clean

This one looks pretty straight and clean to me. Less than 100k miles, too!
I don’t mind the red interior at all.

There is something about a Stout converted to 4wd sitting on 37's that makes me want one

By the extensive undercarriage rust you can only wonder what the new paint is hiding
plus it's gonna need $2k in wheels and tires right off the bat, those rims are fugly

Nice looking. Stouts were aptly named. They had serious steel, especially the bed 1/4 panels, fenders, and doors.

More first gens than i’ve ever seen on ebay right now.
The red one that was(allegedly?) just sold for $8,500 is back, now with frame repaired…

I read the seller’s comments on BaT, then went and found his FB site where he had pictures of the 4R. To say I found his BaT comments disingenuous would be a understatement.
BaT needs to figure out how to rein in these types of sellers otherwise it’s going to be just a dumping ground for junk. Too bad, too. There’s some interesting stuff that rolls through there every now and then.
But these are just my opinions, I’m sure others feel differently.

Next 4runner. The carpet looks like somebody skinned Oscar the Grouch.

It’s not bad looking, though the carpet is grim. Salvaged from a 70’s van with heart windows on the side? Don’t hit it with a black light😜I would have invested in a carpet kit before listing.
But the undercarriage looks decent. One good thing about oil leaks and splatter is it keeps the corrosion down. Front end has had work and sheet metal replaced, but could be superficial.

It looks like they painted the rear axle and some other easy to access items but didnt do a full undercarriage coating.

I always wonder what is under wheel flares. And why are the camber bolts not mirror imaged?

Being a deluxe it came with a vinyl floor. If it's in ok condition it would look better than that carpet. The vinyl pieces over the rear wheel wells looks great. I am impressed they put new tires on, and good ones at that. I can't believe how many BaT sellers don't do that.
If they spray painted the diff it seems minimal. But they didn't post many undercarriage photos. They need more. The red on the gas tank shield is a bit odd.

are you sure about the dlx and vinyl? My 84dlx had vinyl but my 86dlx has carpet that appears to be original. But not carpeted kick panels or full door panels.
