4runner won’t start Help
Ok here is the rundown:
My 91 4runner with the V6 ran great. One day it started and ran rough. It was spewing little partials of fuel into the air out the tail pipe. Painting the wall type of spewing the shop was thick with this stuff. It would run it progressively got worse to the point where it will not even think about starting. It turns over fine but no start. When you do try to start it you can smell gas like it is instantly flooded. This is what I have done:
I changed the fuel filter: When I did it started and ran great for about four seconds then died.
I have changed the spark plugs: When I did all 6 plugs were dripping wet with gas
I changed the ECU: No change
I checked the fuel pump and it is pumping fuel
There is spark on all plugs
There is no signal going to the #2 fuel injector from the ECU
The ECU is storing no codes
I sucked on the vacuum line of the fuel presser relay and I got no air through it and no gas (thank goodness)
I beat my head on the right fender twice and walked out of the shop confused.

It sounds to me like your getting WAY too much fuel. This is probably why it ran after you replaced the filter(because you released the fuel pressure). Either your hardly getting any air at all or some sort of fuel pressure regulator or a sensor is bad. Thats my GUESS anyway.
