4runner w/corolla fuel filter???
Hey I'm a noob here. I want to know if you anyone has put in a corolla fuel filter into your 4runner. If you have, what would you need? Been having bad gas mileage since a timing belt change. Also my check engine light lite on after I changed my spark plugs and pcv valve, any reason why? My o2 possibly???

Why would you use a Corolla fuel filter?
sounds like you may be a tooth off, or have the distributor adjusted wrong to be suddenly getting bad gas mileage. But realistically, it could any number of problems.
What plugs did you use?
First thing you need to do is pull that code, and check all your connections to make sure you didn't forget to plug something in.

First off, you need to make sure you are using a fuel filter for a fuel injection engine.
The Corolla filter will probably starve your 4Runner engine, but who knows, Toyotas have a lot of interchangeable parts.
Don't know about your ECL light. If its running poorly, you probably are off a tooth on you timing belt. How is it running?

Yeah my timing might be off but it seems to run ok. need to check it again when I have time. I remember I bought my plugs from autozone but don't remember what brand. My dad used to be the previous owner and he said he never changed it so I guess I'll go buy a new fuel filter. My truck has about 270,xxx on the motor but at least its still running.
Oh yeah my dad told me he heard that some guys put in a corolla fuel filter in their 4runner and it had better gas mileage after that but not sure if its true or not.
