4runner trade??????

i have a stock 87'runner.i have a 85' front axle for it.my motor has 180k on it and a 5spd tranny.the ac works overall its a great runner.was going to alot to it lift it ,sas, build motor etc... now i have found a 85' runner with 12"of lift a 95' motor in as good condition as mine just the hard stuff already done.it does need new shocks, steering arm and driveshafts.i went and looked at it and me and the guy talked.we are talking about trading out even.enclosed is pics of mine(red one) and the liftrd one.please give me advise on what the best route would be.build mine or trade for one 95% done.

If the guy is willing to trade you straight across, then go for it. Both 4Runners look good and the one your looking at is almost done and has everything done to it that your looking for, so it sounds like a good deal to me.

well the lifted one has some seriously arched springs, and alot of lift, im guessing this is the same route you wanna go? the truck looks clean and good from the pic but i dont see why the guy would want to trade you outright? unless he just wants another project or something, theres a 4runner just like that down the road from me and he wants 6 grand, but all in all if you didint want it lifted that hi you could allways sell the springs and tires to somebody for a good bit of change, and get some good flexy springs, but thats just me

i am not too crazy about the 12" lift it has.but it is all spring lift.no blocks and it has most hard stuff done.i still have to do a sas on mine with is pricey.the blue one needs very little to be finished.i was planning on about 10" lift for mine with 39" claws so this is in the ballpark.i just need to find out a few things like where to get a steering arm for this much lift, whats the difference in a 95' motor compaired to the stock 85,and what size shocks i would need.it would save me lots of time and money by swaping.the guy just started a business and he wants a more stock runner for now.

i would do it. the way i see it, its easier to take away than add lift. plus i dig that green on the runner havent seen a runner that color before

well i would change somethings on it.like move the front axle forward a few inches and make the suspension alittle more flexy.remove them ugly bumpers and build some nice tube style prerunner bumpers for it.but other then that i wouldn't change a thing.

I'd keep yours. The green truck looks to be useless for road driving and it looks like a show truck so it probably hasnt been beefed up enough to handle those tires or lift.

Ask yourself why he's selling it for a stocker...
