Would the shell of a pre 89 4runner fit the bed of an 89 pickup?

Im just curious, but would it also fit 84-88 pickups with the same body type? Or are there special mounts for the cap? I've been looking for a stylish shell, and even though about chopping the back half of a 4runner to make a custom shell out of.

 

I think the removable hard top from a 1st gen 4runner (up to 1989) would fit on a single cab truck of about the same year. The single cabs are more or less straight up and down at the rear window where as the extended cabs are slanted.

 

I think they are close the 4runner hard top is heavy you would also have to put a seal on both front and rear sides if you want it water tight.

the hard top also bolts down to the 4runner with 12 bolts but it dose have a lip on it that you could use the topper clamps on.

 

the hard top measures about 77" long and 58" or 59" wide.
