Hey all - so I've got a really weird issue at hand on my '95 4runner. I bought this last year and it ran pretty well for about a thousand miles. Then it started to have what I thought was issues with the MAF sensor. It would start and run fine however when I gave it gas (either parked or driving) it would flutter at 2k and lose all power dropping the RPM's down to 1k and repeat the pattern. So I replaced the MAF sensor and things seemed to be ok.

I had always noticed the inside lights would dim at idle and get bright when giving it gas. So I thought my alternator was going out (already replaced the battery). So I bought an alternator from a local parts store and swapped. Now when I try and start the 4runner it acts as if the battery is dead. I can jump and it runs fine but the issue with it dying out at 2k RPM's and losing power is back. I'm really confused with what to even check next and I'm wondering if someone has had a similar experience.

ANY advise/experience is welcomed!!!

it might be bogging out from lack of fuel.maybe change the fuel filter and ceck the vacumn lines

all i can say is dont start throwing parts at it. the bill is going to add up real fast. download a fsm and start testing stuff you think is wrong
