4Runner dies while Driving

86 4Runner 22RE
Im at my wits end here with this one, My so called mechanic was no help either.
My truck runs great when its cold but once it gets to driving temp everything goes down hill. If I am at a steady RPM. Doesnt matter what it is, usually between 2200-3200, My 4runner will start "Missing" drops 400-500 RPM then comes back up. after a few times of this she finally dies while driving. Now I have noticed whenever she misses I can smell unburnt gas out the tail pipe. But as long as I accelerate she wont miss. I have tried to search this but didnt find too much. I did replace o2 sensor as someone suggested in another thread but it didnt help. Also replaced distributor, cap and rotor, plugs and wires. Checked the ignition coil and its working as well. The Truck started doing this and while looking for problem I found my Timing chain guide broke so that has all been done in the mean while as well.
I would greatly appreciate any ideas you guys and gals have. I tried to explain it as clear as possible, Thanks in advance!

Does this happen in the rain? or when it feels like rain? is the coil really hot, burn your hand hot?

I think your coil is shot. It may seem fine but it may have an internal short that when it gets hot opens up or cuts out.

Try a known good coil install it terminal side down. they are cheap and common.
