4Runner dies when hot...
When it is cold and hasnt been on itll start fine and idle fine. Once i start driving it and it starts to warm up the RPM's go down. While at a stop light or any stop the truck will go down to about 500 rpm's and if it sits a couple seconds too long then it will jump down to about 100 and hesitate back up and then die. So i have to put it in N so it will idle at about 800. But other than that if its hot and i put the brakes it will die. Any ideas??
PS: Just took it out to the beach and as soon as i parked it died. Or if I would drive it down the beach or play in the sand a little and i would put the brakes it would die. Unless i put it into N. When i start it i have to give it quite a bit of gas so i can put it in gear and keep it alive.

These old fuel injection systems seem to be veeeerrrryyy sensitive to vacuum leaks and incorrect sensor readings. Find the FSM (factory service manual) on this site, I think its in the maintenance section, and read up on setting the TPS, VAFM and see if there is some kind of idle up valve or VSV (vacuum switching valve) that is supposed to increase the idle when you put it in drive. These are a few pointers, but SEARCH FOR YOURSELF!

this happened to me 1st when wwheeling, i removed the air intake to ensure it was dry (it was) and didn't reinstall the lower tube/ intake (its a Y from the air cleaner filter, to another side box, lower and smaller)
this tube had an inverted V in it, so air was rushing past, and i think the engine believes you are decelerating/ and shuts off the fuel.
check your air intake tubes (the big plastic ones)
