im debating wether or not 5'' springs are to tall. please post any pics of a
3rd gen on 4'' or 5'' springs. thanks.

 

Since you have a truck, you want the front to match the rear...4" to 4" or 5" to 5". 4" springs are more than plenty to run 35s.

 

o i know whatever size i get im orderin the same for the rear. one thing im wonderin is IF i wanted to run 63'' chevys in the rear would i order everything in the rear suspension kit from TG except the springs?

wow thats a sick 4runner! so 5'' fronts with 63'' chevys in the rear. any big differences between puttin 63''s on and doin the TG rear 5''s?

 

MONEY!!! And time. We did it that way because my buddy likes fabin his own stuff.

 

ha ya i guess gettin the chevys springs from the junkyard would be a lot cheaper than TG

 

yeah if you get your own parts from a junkyard and peice it together and do alot of work yourself. rebuilding axles and putting the diffs in and everything then just a trained professional to weld everything in you save lots of money and have the fun of building your rig

That's what it's really all about. We can say we built most of it minis the parts from TG. It was a cost difference of around $300. Pluse Dan weilded the hole truck himself. I can only imagine what it would cost if we payed for it to be done! And most of our 4x4 shops here only do jeeps. So we started are own.. Toy 4x4 shop...

you can run 39s with a 4inch sas kit

 

if i remember right...i think the 4in SAS yields 5in of lift..which means the 5in will yield 6in of lift..and so on..just to let you know

i have the 5in. front and rear on my runner. the extra inch will help with not having rubbing issues and you should be able to run 37s. with minimal rub

There's a good brawl errr...thread about this. Look for "Example of too much lift". It should have about 6 pages to it now.

 

its what you would expect from a truck on 35s with flexy springs. it leans when you turn but not to bad. i drive my runner every day with out any problems. just have to slow down more than normal through turns.
