4" lift... best size tire?

Hey I put a 4 inch Rough Country Suspension lift on my truck and was wondering how big i go could go tire-wise. I've heard 33x12.50 from most people, which is what I'm leaning towards. Any suggestions?

Thats the biggest you want to go without anymore upgrades.

I'm running 15x8 mags so that should cover 12.50 wide. My other concern was power loss, which is a given, but 3vze with 4.56 gears should be okay

i would say 33/12.50 would be a good size, and with 4.56 gears you should be ok on power. just curious what year of truck is it? and is it a stick or auto?

With a 4" lift your best choice is 33x12.50. If you want to cut sheet metal though you can get 35's under it, or if you add a 3" body lift you can get 35's too with no trimming. Add a bj spacer and you'll clear 36-37" no problem...

And from what I've read, that 3.slo and auto combination is gonna suck with even the 33's. Any bigger and you're definitely going to have to regear.

Thanks alot for all the feedback, and to answer notanymore's question, its a 92 DLX 3.0 stick shift with a 2.25" catback. It runs fine with my 31x10.50's so i guess a couple extra inches shouldn't be an issue. Thanks again

I suggest going 4.88's instead of 4.56's. 4.56's will bring your gearing back to stock. 4.88's will leave you a bit undergeared which is good because it will help to compensate for the extra drag, mass, and inertia of the lift and larger tires. I had 4.56's and 4.88's with a 4" lift, 3.0, and 5 speed in a 4runner so I got to compare them back to back.

U are running the exact setup iam except my wheels are 10 inch wide wich just makes tires stick out and inch farther on each side. I woulnt go any bigger than 33. with 33s you wont rub in back when flexed out all the way the only problem u may find is your gonna want to regear (4:88s) to gain your power back and thats something you only want to do once. Its exspensive for front and back. (atleast $1200 if you have the work done). Thats my 2 cents. hope it helps
