3vze sensor help please
I was driving home the other day and started to smell a rich smell. Then a loud electric whineing when I pressed the gas.
So I pulled in the driveway smoke coming from my hood. Opened it and found that there was a leak at the back of the engine. It was dripping onto the exaust and smoking off explaining the weired smell. After researching I found that it could be the coolant bypass hose. I picked one up from toyota today.

So I'm going to fix that but I also noticed a sensor hanging with two hoses in it. Doesn't look like it should be like that anyone no what it's called? Here's some pics

TVV(Thermo Vacuum Valve), sometimes refered to as a BVSV(Bi-metallic Vacuum Switching Valve).
Without it being installed in one of the designated coolant ports(it fits several of them), your EVAP system is non-functional. Unless the TVV eventually heats up enough to actuate/open the valve. It needs to reach atleast 129°F. Which may or may not ever happen.
You can see where it's supposed to be installed(the old/broken one is still stuck in the hole/port).

Ok so i got the old hose and sensor off. But I'm stuck.the good thermo vacuum valve won't screw in , the nipples on it are hitting something.i have pictures.
I got one thread on to hold it there but it's being stopped.
Anyone no what I can do?
Maybe sand a little of the nipple off? Will this do any damage to it?
