3VZE Knock Sensor questions
Hello, I just did a HG Replacement on my truck. When I started it I got a CEL code 52. When I was elbows deep into the 3veezzyyy I had replaced the knock sensor and wire harness so I wouldn’t come across this issue like I am now. Oh well. But I’m thinking that the plug on the engine wire harness is the issue, and was wondering if I could go to a junk yard cut one off and replace the old with it? Would this cause any issue’s, resistance wise? The reason why I think it’s the plug on the engine wire harness is because the mechanic that put the engine in, left the plug resting on the crossover pipe and melted the crap out of it and the wire going into the plug seems deteriorated. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

Just called the my local junk yard. Asked if they had any 1990 toyota pickups on the lot.
They said "Sure do, We have a 89 and 90" I then asked, what size motor's?
The guy said they don't document engine sizes. Just year makes and models. I know it's only $3 or $5 bucks to get in, But C'mon. Oh well, Thought it was kinda of funny..
Are the connectors the same on the 4 cylinders too?

Nevermind size, they should certainly know whether it's a v6 or 4 cyl. If they won't get off their fat rears and check, try another yard.
I think the 22re doesn't have a pigtail, and the pigtail connector is different. So you'll probably need an 88-91 3vze truck and you'll need a yard that will let you cut the knock sensor lead off the harness.
Good luck.
