So the other day, I put a battery in the 4Runner and cranked it up, let it run for about 15 minutes, all of the sudden one of the hoses that goes to the intake manifold busted and sprayed coolant everywhere. I let it cool down, restarted it and it ran fine long enough for me to get it to the driveway (I keep it on the back of my property under a lean-to shed.) which is maybe 100 yards away. It ran fine because it was cold. I replaced the hose that busted and a few of the rusty connectors i noticed under the hood, refilled with coolant and started it up.

Here is where the issue started. It runs fine cold idles fine etc. but as soon as it warms up it seems to be misfiring (horrible knocking sound while misfiring).

3vze, Auto trans, 4x4, Sr5.

Any ideas as to what else I should do? It did not overheat and I have compression tested the engine with results of 150ish across the board.

It will quite literally begin to knock at idle and shut down due to low rpm's when coming to a stop but as long as I am giving it throttle it is fine.

sounds like plugs and wires dont forget to check fule prusure and injectors

 

Plugs and wires are fine, cap and rotor were replaced just cause, I think it's a leaking cold start injector. Also checking on the FPR but I have a feeling it's the cold start.
