3vze Defect Summary

Okay, well with all the threads I have read between this site and others it seems like these are the 2 "Must Do's!" In order to remedy the 3vze of it's critical design flaws.

1. Head Gaskets (Source Jasper engines):
Due to head gasket failure, JASPER is using the latest updated head
gasket from Toyota. Originally the O.E. gasket was graphite on both
the cylinder block side and the cylinder head side. Due to the
bi-metal application, the block and head would expand and contract at
different rates. The scrubbing effect would then separate the
graphite from the core of the gasket causing leaks. The new gasket
has an MLS side for the head and a graphite side for the block. This
is to eliminate blown head gaskets.

2. Cross Over Pipe (Mulitple Thread Sources)
The Crossover pipe causes cylinders 5 and 6 to super heat, burning valves and adding stress to the already vulnerable head gaskets.
I have read some pretty good write ups on Downey headers. Headers relieve the back pressure stress and increase the engines performance around 14 HP.

Whew, I already took care of these. thanks for posting for those new to the forums. we should make a list of "To Do's" in general.

example:

Shifter seat bushing - wears out and causes rough shiifting.Shifter seat bushing

Something like this. Break it down via model and years, and then a general "catch all". EVeryone could vote in one thread as to what is considered "NEEDED" and these items will get added. Just a thought.

The steel slipperplate Rock gasket HG and the steel core Nitroseal are also proven solutions.

Bumpin - long time, well no I don't have that for my head gasket. I just have the Toyota OE replacement head gasket, but she's holding up.
