3vze to 5mge

I've read about 22r to 5m swaps, but have a few questions about a 3vz to 5mge.
Anyone know if the 5m will bolt onto a 2nd gen 3vz 4wd auto tranny with or without bell housing swaps or modification?
Or even full removal of 3.0 and auto tranny and swap a complete 5m with auto tranny? It may seem a bit outlandish to get away from a 3.0 but I like to day dream sometimes..anyone know or think this is possible?

I am in the process of putting a 5mge in my 91 4runner. I took the engine and bell housing out of a 1988 toyota cressida. The bell housing bolted right up to my auto transmission. If you need any other questions answered you can message me as I have researched this a lot and have tons of info.

I guess I'm cerious about this, but why go to all this work for that motor?
I mean the 5vz-fe is way better engine then all of the M engines for a truck.

Are you planning on running turbos? Obviously the supra engines CAN make a lot of power. But don't really make that much power stock. Not when compared to the torque output of a 5vz-fe.

I'm wondering the same thing as thatguy, plus, why waste the time with the old 5M. If your gonna go to the trouble if putting a M series motor in, why not go for the updated 7M? Tour boing it would be easier, plus it's a newer and more powerful than a 5M.

Why bolt in a 5m rather than a 7?
2 reasons:
1- at the time I had bought a good running 83 Cressida with 102k for 300$. Regardless of using the engine, I could pull the engine and drivetrain and make my most of my money in weight for scrap.
2- my 3.0 headgasket had been blown and I couldn't decide wether to repair or swap.

I decided to sell it to someone that wanted the whole vehicle, and rebuild the 3.0, and 4.5k miles after the rebuild it lost all oil pressure on the highway so I decided I was done with the rig and sold it to the junkyard. The crank bearings wore down too much and at 243k I didn't want to do a bottom end rebuild. It was a runner from hell with problems.
Also sold my pathy so no more 4wd rigs for me anymore..just my 944 left.
I'll eventually get my favorite rig again, but it'll be a 3rd gen next time around, I've had bad luck with 2nd gens haha.
