3vz T4R high idle
#1
Having some issues with my 4runner, it's a 95 4x4 standard trans, 3vze. It's idling at 1500 rpm on start up and when warmed up. Doesn't drop at all. When I turn the AC on it drops to 1250. not sure if they're related, planning on pulling off the throttle body after work and checking the coolant lines in the bottom to start. any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Does your temp sensor work (the gauge on the instrument cluster)? I'm not sure if that directly controls the idle dropping down, but it's the first thing I'd check.
If you want to just directly adjust the idle it's super easy - there's a flathead screw on the throttle body just before where it mounts to the intake manifold. Clockwise to reduce idle.

Thanks for the response, my temp gauge works. The idle screw is fully threaded, still a high idle. I replaced fuel filter today and swapped a few hose clamps and the idles sitting at around 1200, but it surges. Bounces about 50-100 rpm repeatedly. Gunna run to town later and grab a TB gasket so I can pull it off I think. Sometimes it sits right where it should, it’s not constant. Kinda confusing me
