Smile 3D printing an Adapter for an SR5 Center Console Conversion

Thought you guys would like this:

I got my 92 Toyota Pickup DLX which is NOT the SR5 trim package.

I'm in the process of converting the interior to the SR5 trim package, to include steering wheel, center console, door trim (if I can ever find it) etc.
However non SR5 trucks didnt come with the cab mounted brackets to install the center console bezel & boot to the shifter.

Now in order to do the conversion, you'd have to fabricate and either drill & rivet or weld two U-shaped brackets to the cab's sheet metal floor.
I went with a different solution by utilizing a 3D printer which I bought with the intent of fabricating hard to find parts for my pickup.

Using a JC Customs shifter mounted cupholder as a template, I fabricated an adapter plate with mounts for the center console bezel.

Adapter plate made in Fusion 360
Adapter plate made in Fusion 360 to be 3D printed with either PETG or PLA-CF

After multiple prototypes, this is the final form of the adapter. It uses two bolts to mount together and uses the OEM screws to mount to the Shifter plate.

The adapter installed with JC Customs cup holder.

Check fitting the center console bezel and rear console.
Check fitting the center console bezel and rear console. So far everything fit perfectly. Just had to drill holes for the screws on the sides.

And basically it fits together like it's OEM! Really excited to continue 3D printing stuff for this truck!

final product.
Done. SR5 shift handle included. link to my Youtube channel where you can watch a more detailed video below

The SR5 Center Console conversion has been something I've wanted to do for a long time, but getting the correct brackets and a welder to do it was an obstacle. 3D printing allows me to create the parts need to make it all work, no welding or cutting required, and I added some extra cup holders along with it!

Neat, would love to invest but I still have my stupid bench seat one day I may tackle getting some buckets I just hope it’s not too late and the center console is long gone. I love the cup holder though

Thanks, I had the bench seat a while back. Technically you could use the shifter bezel with the adapter with a bench seat, might look wonky though.
JC Customs has some good upgrades for trucks with Bench seats.
