3.0 rebuild- runs- won't rev up- dies



Still going forward....... we've got the rebuild in the 92, it starts, runs, not real smooth, but runs.....I cover a portion of the mouth of the maf, it smooths out and idles fine even when I remove the mag blockage, I can press the footfeed slowly and reach over 3000 rpm. Normal pedal pressure it will die.
we changed nothing that was on the exit engine but: new manifold cups for injectors.
What do ya'll think......are we a first?

sounds like a vacuum leak, almost. or maybe the iacv isnt working properly.

This sounds like textbook VAFM issue or vacuum leak. Are you 100% certain that the VAFM connection to the ECM is good and that it checks out per the FSM? After my rebuild my engine ran like you describe only to realize I forgot to plug in the VAFM. Haha. Idled fine but I had to very slowly increase throttle to get it higher without stalling. So it is likely something in that air side of things.
