3.0 quitting at startup

I have a 91 4runner with the 3.0. I just had it rebuilt but now i have a problem no one has an answer for. The truck fires right up but when i let off the key and it springs back to the normal on position the truck dies. It doesnt really sputter it just dies. If i hold the key turned it will stay running like a dream. Thought it was the ignition switch replaced it and got the same thing. I dont know what to do. A guy i know that works for the toyota dealership here said the igniter might be the problem I was just looking for some input from others before i spent the money on it.Thanks.

Check the wiring from the *ON* position I bet you have a bad wire somewhere.
