3.0 Jumping when put into gear

Just did a sas and converted to leaves in the rear on my 95 4runner. Right now Im running the truck without a front driveshaft, but thats only till monday. My question is, when I put it in drive or park, the truck lunges forward almost. Its kind of annoying. Anybody have any idea what may have caused this? My first guess was because I dont have a front drive shaft. But then I was told otherwise that it may not be the problem. I guess im looking for at the throttle body sensor or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At what RPM is the idle speed set? Does it do it all the time, i.e., when either cold or warm?

I don't think the lack of a front drive shaft would affect the situation.

Only thing I can think of, is maybe you have alot of axle wrap. In park or neutral, the axle is in a neutral state, when you stick it in gear if the axle has wrap you ass end will move up or down. This is probably because when your on the brakes specially just sitting idle your back brakes probably aren't providing any stopping power at all, unlike when you come to an actual stop... From drive to park jump is probably the axle settling to a more neutral position.

I'd check your axle for wrap.

I have an 82' yota longbed with pretty bad axle wrap, and when I take off my ass end kind of hops up, same when I shift in 2nd. It's even worse now when I went to 5.29 gears.

I just had this problem.

I adjusted the throttle pressure cable. The one on the throttle body with a rubber boot thingy on it.

The manual says to adjust by doing the following:
Depress accelerator all the way. Adjust cable until there is 1mm of space between the stopper on the cable and the end of the rubber boot.

It was suggested to me to do it like this:
Closed throttle. Pull back boot exposing stopper. Adjust cable until there is 1mm of space between the stopper and the cable housing.

I don't own an auto so I don't know... But what exactly does that have to do with the tranny? Is it like an idle up for when you put it in gear or something?

Don't take my word for it, take the fsm's word for it:

Troubleshooting (notice how critical the proper adjust of the cable is) Sounds like harsh engagement into any drive gear describes your problem:

Adjustment procedure:

See if that does anything for you.
