3.0 engine removal help

Hey all,

I am removing a bad 3.0 motor from a 1993 Toyota 4Runner with an automatic transmission and replacing it with a good 3.0 from a 1994 Toyota 4Runner with a manual transmission. I have removed engines in older vehicles before, but never a Toyota 4Runner. I believe other than switching the bell housings out, everything should bolt up, correct? Do I need to drop the auto transmission for this project? How do I get to the top bell housing bolts on the auto? Any pointers or a step-by-step process on the removal of the engine and reinstallation would be great! Thanks in advance

So how'd it go?
Probably figured out by now you needed to remove pilot bearing from rear of crankshaft on 'new' 94 manual.
How many 36" extension bars did you use to get those top bolts off bellhousing?

LOL, I used a ton of extensions to get those top bell housing bolts. And had to have some help guiding the socket onto the bolt, but got all of them out. Planning on actually pulling the motor today now that I got everything removed/taken off.
