Engine removal ?'s

Ok to start it off I have a 95' 4runner with the 3.0. I have already taken the motor out of a manual 4runner, engine and trans as a combined unit. The truck was junk so I cut the fenders off and it was no prob. Now i have read the service manual and I want to remove only the motor from a truck that has an auto trans. I know I need to get to the two bolts that are beneath the crossover pipe on the engine block. I was wondering what is the proper way to due this? Can I somehow get to them from the top with the mani's still on the motor or do I definatly need to remove them? Also where can i find a socket to take off the bolt on the axle on a truck with auto hubs? I think it is 52 or 54mm. Thanks for any help.

Derek

It seems like most folks go after the two top bell housing bolts from underneath the truck, with a number of extensions and a u-joint or wobble on the socket end. That's how I did mine. It took a while, but it does work.
