2wd capacity diff

hey guys, I’m filling my rear diff fluid on the full plug and it started to pour out at about 1.5 quarts, so I’m wondering how much is the capacity on it ? It’s a 94 Toyota pickup 2wd 7.5 rear

Also when I took off the fill plug, gear oil gushed out as if it was the drain plug, so I’m wondering if there’s another way to get the fluid in the from the top ?

Only through the fill hole. A hand pump connected to the bottle of fresh oil is one method. Plastic tubing and gravity is another.

Fluif expands after a drive. Even so, its normal for some to seep out when its cold. Assuming you are parked on a level surface.

Dont have the specs but you should have no problem looking that one up. Its less than typical oil changes so be careful not to overfill.

usually about 2 quarts but you are using the correct fill method.
Drain from bottom plug
fill from plug on rear of housing until is comes out.
you remove the vent on the top and fill from the top

Check that your vent isn't clogged - I pull mine out and clean them every time I change fluid.

Otherwise, 2 - 2.5 qts sounds about right. They don't take much.

3 pints or 1.5 quarts is correct for the 2wd 7.5.
