I recently manual swapped my 94 Hilux surf (RHD 4runner equivalent). The torsion springs are a bitch so I've swapped to a linear spring. I've read a bunch of forums on it, but I think they are mostly for 3rd gens which seem to be a simpler straight swap. I've found that on my 2nd gen that the clutch pedal bracket gets in the way and rubs on the spring. I've had the most luck with a very bent up 2nd gen 4runner brake pedal spring, and there is very little rub with it. I also ordered the proper clutch pedal spring that most people recommended but it rubbed really bad, and I couldn't bend it up to fix it much, so sticking with my brake pedal spring. Has anyone found an elegant solution with no rubbing for the 2nd gens?
