2nd Gen Door Removal w/power windows

Well, title says it all. I have no door speakers, just dash and rear panels. I do have power windows. I know how to remove a door, kept them off on my 84, but it did not have power windows. The question is, is there a harness connector somewhere where you don't have to remove the door pannel? I want to get the doors off, I have wicked cold a/c, but gas is too dang expensive! well, any help is appreciated, later ya'll.

if you don't see one when you open the doors, it is probably either behind the door panel or the kick panel.

personally I would just cut and splice my own so that I could just do it when I opened the door, ...seems pretty straight forward

Only one issue with cut and splice, the space is limited with the door open, can't imagine when closed. But, that is still an option, just trying to keep that a last resort.

i am not that familiar with the Toyota power connections on the doors. There are some manufacturers that put the connection right behind the rubber boot on the door side that holds the wires. If you pull the boot back from the door you may be able to get at the connector.
I have power windows also on the new truck i am picking up this weekend and this is my concern also.
If you want or have to splice the connection try to get a few small connector(something like weather tight or econoseal by amp/tyco) you could slide through the factory hole, also give enough slack wire so you can pull them out of the door or kick panel(probably better) one at a time when you want to disconnect them. Sorry if im not being clear, but basically you want to be able to sneak the spliced connections back into a factory hole so they aren't in the door jamb, just give yourself enough wire to fish them our with.

Good luck

Plenty of space between the door annd fender for a connector, and you'd never even see it lol

It's been a while since I've had the door apart on my wife's '92, but as I recall the connectors were inside the door requiring panel removal. There's I tool a got at O'Reilly especially getting behind the panel to pry the snaps loose. Looks like a tiny pry bar. Pretty cheap and made it easier without breaking crap.

Then again, I never bothered to look behind the kickpanels. Didn't need to as I was merely servicing the window/lock control panel in the handle. Anyway, look there.
