They are about the same as 33/10.50s so a little pinch weld beating possibly and they'll be ok i think. anybody elses 2cents?

Without gears it will be slower. This is one of those topics that comes up frequently. My truck had 33/12.5 on it when I got it. But not all tires are true size, so one brand may fit better. Check the manufacture specs for the true OD. You can always crank the torsion bars and put an AAL in the rear.

Yeah that is true and I plan on regearing shortly after. I was just curious as to what i could get away with without lifting. i dont wheel really hard so im not superworried about scrubbing

285s will fit

they are only 33s, at most you'll have rubbing on the pinch weld at full lock/compression
Thats why we have sawzalls/grinders/torch/BFH

to stay on the safe side id go with a 1" bodylift just for a little extra clearance too.
post some pictures once you get them on too!

Here is my truck with 1.5" BJ spacers and a 1" BL on 285/75/16's. My rims are also 16x10 with 4.5" backspacing. Even with 2.5 inches of lift i still had to cut back some of the pinch weld to avoid rubbing while the steering was locked. Hope this helps.

I hate the metric system

I mean, it'd be different if we used the thing... Then I'd say that about ppl posting standard stuff...

285 x .75 x 2 / 25.4 + rim diameter (16) = 32.8" outer diameter tire.

You are not the only one who hates that system, but thanks for that formula, I'll save it for future use.

Keep in mind that regard less what the sidewall says the OD of a tire varies by manufacture and even from tire design with in the same manufacture. I've read articles why some do this but really not going into that. The only reason I think it even matters here is a difference of 0.5" on stock truck with no lift will be the lots of rubbing vrs no rubbing. Just check the manufacture specs as it is always listed.
