22re wireing trouble

22re wireing trouble

ok i just bought a 89 toyota with a 22re motor in it an i have mosts of the wires hooked up but they are 4 red wires that go into one what are they? My starter also clicks but thats it could the 4 red wires have something to do with that?

i cant get them to load up. but they are 4 red wires going into one end with a hole on it like it goes on something

Where is the wire your talking about located? A little more information would be helpful..or pics if you got them.

the wires are below the intake on the left side. they come out of the wireing harness

Are they white connectors? Going under the body right next to the starter? If that's it I believe those do go to the starter.

no they are not white they are 4 red wires. swampfox im not sure but i did have them grounded but i took it off bc i didnt kno if they was a ground. i have got to get a starter bc mine just clicks. but if you all have pics of your wires i can tell u more bc i cant get my pics to load. thanks michael

I went and looked at my 89 and the ground that I was talking about has a square shaped connector with a hole a little bigger than a pencil. The wires are grouped two in one connector on one corner and mine has one wire on the other corner same side. The wires are a reddish /orange color.

Got the pic and I blew it up a little so we can see it.



It looks to me like the ground that goes to the intake...I didn't have mine hooked up and my injectors weren't working and it would just turn over..Maybe someone else can shed some light on it.

You could always turn the ignition switch on and check for voltage just to be sure its not hot before you ground it.
