22re went KABOOM!
I was driving out on the highway the other day and noticed that my truck had very little power to keep it going up a small hill. Got to the top of the hill and when I backed off on the throttle it started squeeling like the alternator had locked up. Made it about a half a mile and the connecting rod made a nice vent hole(about the size of my fist) thru the block. Whats odd was there was no knock, just squeeling and a giant bang when it let go. Anyone else ever have this happen? My guess is the oil pump

the lower end had 128000, just had it apart 10000 miles ago for new head gasket and timing chain. Never touched the block because it had such good compression and never had a bearing let go on a 22re before

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio - Amelia is the exact place. There is no one else on this site from where I am. Seems like everyone is from Cali or Washington. I guess I need to move.

Same exact thing happened to me in March of last year, 3 months after a rebuild, the number one piston went on the highway at about 70 mph, loud bang and a hole that a pop can could fot into was in the block.
