22RE Swap Wireing Problems

So I just finished replacing my worn out 22re in my 92 4runner. I replaced it with a 22re out of a 93 truck. It came with all the sensor and wiring harness still attached. I decided to just leave that harness attached to the engine and take out my factory harness. Now I am having problems starting the engine. I am getting spark, and fuel from the fuel pump but the injectors don't seem to be firing. I checked the voltage at the injhector and it read 12V. I checked all the grounds and they were all attached. From what i read there should be 4 grounding spots for the harness. When i turn the ignition on I do not get a check engine light. I have checked all the fuses and relays they all look good. Im thinking it might be a problem with the compatibility of using newer wiring harness with a older ecu. Can anybody confirm that this could be a issue or another things that could be causing this issue. My 4runner was built on 11/91 and it came with a factory 22re.

Thanks for the help

Red face

Your wiring Harness Should match the ecu .

The different ECU pin outs can be just different enough not to work.

Then if one is Auto and one Manual it gets more fun.

My 4runner is a manual and the engine I swapped was manual. I will double check the ecu pinouts, last time I checked they were identical.

92 to 93 nothing changed. The ECU's should work. I have run 89 ECU in a 93. They must both be manual or auto. I think you have another problem. ECU is not getting power if your engine light is not on.

Thanks for the reply's, I looked at all the plugs on the harness. The three plugs going to the ecu were all identical. They only thing different was the two plugs that go into the cabin harness. The harness from the 93 is missing 4 wires that my stock one had. These wires are Green White, Green, Green Red, Green Blue. Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the cabin harness. Ive been looking but can only find a diagram for the ecu pin outs. Im still unsure if this could be the problem because it sounds like there shouldn't be any problem with the ecu and wire harness i am using. Since the ecu is not getting power, would i still be getting spark?

Today I switched the harnesses and I am still having the same problem. I'm thinking its my ecu. I also did a compression test just to make sure the engine wasn't shot and all the cylinders were within spec.
