1990 4runner 22re.

New plugs, wires, distributor and rotor during engine refresh a few weeks ago. Engine ran fine (though was generally slow to start when cold) for the past several weeks.
Yesterday, started up and stalled about a minute later.

Now the starter turns over, turns the flywheel, but won't start the engine.
No spark....replaced ignition coil....still nothing....

Bad igniter?
something else I'm missing?

 

when the igniter on my '86 22re died, there was no spark... the coil ohmed out fine when tested.

do you have a factory manual? follow the troubleshooting steps, see where it goes.

the aftermarket '85-'86 igniters went out of stock with covid, and afaik they are still not available, hopefully that's not the case with your '90.
