Not to argue, but the FSM, if I'm reading it right, says that that's the oil pressure sensor/switch, either for the gauge or just the idiot lite.

But hey, I may well be wrong...

Oil pressure sender/switch is the silver cylinder below the oil filter.
The sensor at the top left is for sure the knock sensor.

Maybe some one has a rotated image.

You can see the knock sensor, an oil filter, an oil pressure sender, and two bolts of the motor mount (those are important because they tell you that's the front and lower if the engine.)

PS, pretty sure the switch is smaller but I'm old and forgetful.

I was just going by the FSM for 86-89.

Am I mistaken that it shows the sensor upper left above the oil filter is the pressure switch/gauge sender? I always thought (there I go thinking. Gets me in trouble every time... ) that the knock sensor was at the back of the block, up higher, nearer the head/block line.

Anyone have an actual photo of it?

Compare the line drawing you are looking at to the photo above..

Can you pick out the oil galley and the undrilled port?

indeed, in the photo, the undrilled port is directly below the knock sensor, to the left of the mounting boss.

The upper left sensor is the knock sensor, here is a picture of my long block on the stand with better detail. Knock sensor not currently installed.

OK. I was just going by the drawing I found in the FSM. Obviously, I was mistaken.
Thanks for correcting my impressions. I know better now
