22re runs fine, then power loss
First, Yes, I have searched and read up on this a lot. Tried numerous things, with no luck. Don't know where to go from here, just hoping to get some other opinions and help.
Truck is 88 4runner, 22re 5 speed. 259k with about 20k on rebuild (cam, head gasket, timing). 32 inch tires, stock gearing.
Problem...Truck starts, runs fine. Is not running hot. Timing is 5* BTDC. Runs good and drives good to start, but, After the truck is warm, there is a huge loss of power. Idle, when running normally is right under 1k, but when issue starts it drops down to about 4/500, nearly cutting out. No acceleration, don't even want to try hills.
There really is no consistency in mileage or time to when the issue starts....in the morning on the way into work, it never happens. On the way home, it happens nearly every time I back into my driveway. On longer trips, happens very randomly. Issue lasts for very random times as well, sometimes it returns to full power quickly, other times not for a long time or until truck has been shut off, and not turned on for a while.
I have tried....Seafoam. No effect. Checked vacuum lines, which were correct. (I know some will not agree with this but) Removed EGR valve, VSV, and all vacuum lines on the top of the engine (according to 4crawlers website). Tested the truck as I pulled each one off, no effect. Replaces vacuum lines with lc engineering silicon kit. No effect. Checked/Replaced/Checked/adjusted TPS. No effect. Replaced intake hose, which was cracked. No effect. Ran fuel injector cleaner. No effect. Checked/replaced/checked AFM. No effect. Put a set of 235s on. No effect. Punched/kicked/swore. No effect.
Anyone got anything else? Any help? Thanks
