srry i sounded pissed this things just a nightmare, ya ive checked it but what it looks like is what ive been dreading, the wiring harness is all brittle and broke so i need a new one but its hard to find one and i know its going to be $$$$$ but nothing i can do abt that now so thanks for all ur help.. probably going to go to Toyota and see what they have thanks again.

Yeah, Mike, don't worry about it. I know these things can drive you up the wall.
Well, what I was going to say, now that I have a little more time to post, was to check connections at the ECU and, more pointedly, the distributor at the ECU. The ECU controls timing advance, as I've said, but the distributor has two circuits at the coil pickup that sense the crank and cam positions and revolution. But, it looks like you've probably found the issue. Again, though, test all the connections at the ECU. Not on the ECU itself, but the connectors on the harness. You could get lucky and only have to replace a couple of wires and maybe just repair a few others. This would save you some time..........though, it is time consuming. But, when you have the money, you know what I'd do? I'd check with the YT marketplace or at Nix99. You can find Nix on the web or just PM DeathCougar. See what they can scare up for you. Reasonable guys, they are.
