22re Rebuild Follow along

Hi all,
I was inspired by All_Terrain17 thread
( https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...22-post928655/) as he rebuilt his head. After reading through it I felt I could tackle the job myself. While reading through several other threads I decided it would be best to pull the whole engine and rebuild it. It burns about 2 quarts of oil between changes, besides the now new blown head gasket.

I hope this inspires other they can do the same. For the most part I am following the Chiltons guide. (BTW I have very little experiance beyond changing out a radiator or water pump.)

Before anything is pulled

1. Disconnect Neg Batt Cable
2. Remove Engine Undercover
3. Disconnect Windshield Washer host / Remove Hood
4. Pulled the radiator and fan (next time I will snap a few inbetween picts

Getting ready to pull hoses. (Labeling everything)
Chiltons says to disconnect the follow
 • No1. and No 2. PCV Hoses (I don't know where those are)
 • Brake Booster Hose
 • Air Contorl Valve Hoses
 • EVAP hose at the canister (Don't know where that is)
 • Vacuum modulator hos at EGR valve
 • Air Valve Hoses at throttle Body and Chamber
 • Two Water by-pass hoses at throttle body
 • AirControl Valve hose at the actuator
 • Pressure regulator hose at the chamber
 • Cold start injector pipe (?? Where is that?)
 • BVSV hose. (What is this?)
I don't know half what the names are for the hoses and wires. The book I have does not have many pictures or diagrams. So I'm just numbering everything.

OK on to Finding the Cold start injector wire adn throttle position sensor. I'll post more pictures and progress as it comes)

Q: Is the Red arrow pointing to one of the water bypass hoses at the throttle body?
