my new to me pickup has a knock in the motor. pretty sure its the bottom end,it doesnt get worse of anything with reving the engine. it might some what come and go as your driving but doesnt get louder or faster. anyone have any ideas what it could be? the truck has 350 000 kms on it but doesnt burn oil or smoke. i havent had a chance to take it to a mechanic yet but i can get a good used motor for around $300 and 'm guessing it would be more than that to have whatevers wrong fixed.

 

Sound clip would be nice...but if you dont have the means...bottom end knocks usually get louder with rpms, you sure that its not the classic toyota tick??

 

i can probably get some sound tomorrow after work with the video camera. this is only the second yota i've owned going from jeeps so not sure on the classic tick lol. you can hear it pretty good in or out of the truck,but i was under it the other day looking at the driveshafts and i could hear it worse under there. its steady noise doesnt get louder or quieter but i kinda remember when i drove it home it may have went away at times.i'll have to take it up the road at higher speeds again and see. i need to do the clutch soon so i figured if i needed another motor wait and do the clutch when i change it.
