22re motor
Got a question for you toyota guys....I did a motor swap on my 86 for the first time and everything seemed to work out ok. After everything checked out I drove it for awhile and then it started to overheat after 45 minutes so I pulled over and checked things out and seen a busted hose. I let it cool down and did a quick fix and got it back home. I checked the oil and it was how it should be. The next day I tinkered with it and started it up again and I could smell the sweetness of antifreeze, I looked on the dipstick and seen the oil/antifreeze mixture going on. Is there any other way the antifreeze could mix with the oil besides blowing the head gasket? The motor ran like a champ when I took it out of the other truck, was it just my bad luck and the gasket gave out after the swap? Looking for feedback before I get out in the heat and start tearing it down....Thanks!

depends...if you have a fubarred head gasket this would make compression low, search for a leakdown test do it and find out if it truly is the headgasket, or it can even be improperly adjusted valves or leaky valve seals
