22re lower intake removal
Whats the quickest way to remove the lower intake (the upper is off already along with the fuel rail, etc..) on a 91' 22re? All the bolts are out and its just laying to the side right now. I dont see an easy way unless you remove the entire wire harness as it goes through the middle of it.
Im in the middle of a head replacment and want to clean everything up before re-assembly.
This is an auto 4X4 if that makes a difference.

The harness is easy. I just did all of this a few days ago. Pull the O2 sensors, the plug off of the transfer case, the two on the tranny, and you are good to go. Then all you have to do is feed the wire through the middle of the intake and it will come out. The rest of the harness can be left in there. It may seem like kind of a pain but it is rather easy.
When I pulled mine I was able to re-tape it all up and through it back under nice and clean.
When you put the harness back through its nice to have someone under the truck while the other is feeding it through from the top. It can be done by yourself cause that is how I did it but I kept thinking it would have been easier with someone helping.
Good luck!

ok i got evertihng loose now EXCEPT one wire that appears to be plugged into the transmission INSIDE IT? it has a boot that i pulled up and found a small bracket locking it into the trans. Once i removed the bracket i pulled the plug out and wires continued into the trans. (this is on the drivers side btw). Dont tell me im going to have to drop the trans pan too....or am i?

If you remove the FR tire and the access pannel in the RH wheel well the you should be able to easily reach the 3 (I think) connectors that go to the tranny/transfer case.
