I have a 4x4 1993 Toyota Pickup with a 22re that ticks loudly, and it sounds like it is coming from the #2 fuel injector. You can also hear it from standing on the passenger side of the vehicle. I have replaced all the injectors with LCE performance injectors, and did multiple valve adjustments but it hasn't ceased. The previous owner did a head gasket/timing chain job. Aside from the noise my truck runs good and has power.

If I hold the #2 injector I can feel it firing excessively, compared to the others. I was thinking maybe the fuel rail is warped, my fuel pressure regulator is faulty, or theres an electrical issue with the injector harness/ecu. What do you think? This ticking is driving me crazy.

 

Did you ever figure out what was causing it? All 4 of my injections are continuously firing even with the engine off and the key in the run position.
