OK, I've never removed an engine but I think I'm going to do it. Hope it doesn't cost much for the cleaning. I can rent a hoist for $20 a weekend and I'll just purchase a stand from harbor freight.

I'm going to replace that rear seal and use one of those slip/covers if there is a groove back there. I needed to change the clutch soon anyhow. PLUS if I pull it out then I don't have to drop the differential and I can get that oil pan back off/on with precision laid fipg right?!

I would get an Aisian clutch from Wabfab. The throwout bearing will need to be pressed on and off just so you know. Pilot Bearing can extracted using wet paper towels, Search for the technique on here ( I think Iamsuperbleeder did a video on it). Get a new flywheel from NAPA or have your machine shop resurface your old one. You already have the gasket kit, which OEM is the best by the way...what you have. Put a new front and rear main seals in. Have the head checked and put in new valve seals.

Then I always like to replace any hoses that are brittle or spongy while I am in there.

I bet for $1500 you will have a great running motor. Lot cheaper than a new truck.

Question: Below are pictures of my cam. I see some pitting along the edges of a couple of the "lobes" (if that's what they are called)

Is that something to be concerned about? I am dropping the head off this weekend and if it can be corrected I will have them do that if need be. If it needs replacing then I will buy a new one first before I take the head to the shop so they can assemble it all together before I pick it back up.
