Well, they're definitely pressure bent, if the reduced cross section at the bends is characteristic of pressure bending.

I think I'm hitting around 3500 rpm at 50 mph in 3rd and the same at 75 in 5th. I can't remember in 4th. I end up doing most of my city driving in 3rd and freeway in 5th, driving somewhere between 75 and 80 mph. Town obviously varies. Usually shifting between 3500 and 4000 in the first three gears. One of my biggest problems in town is that, coming out of my neighborhood, there is a large hill that I end up having to run up for about 1.5 miles in first and second gear, most of that being at about 4000 rpm in second gear, which is around 30-35 mph. Then, coming out of my office, there is a similar hill, though a little longer and steeper. Also one coming into my neighborhood of similar slope but shorter. They are great for getting my heart rate up when I cycle to work, but bad on my truck first thing after I pull out of the garage or office.

Red lights bother me, and there are plenty of them around Birmingham, AL.

I'm thinking about making a bed cover for highway travel. I have read that they are supposed to be good for +2 mpg.
