Hi there folks. I have a transplanted 93 22RE in an 86 4runner. I spliced the 93 injectors into the 86 harness. I am reading in this post about the difference in injector resistance and the external resistor... I cannot get the truck to start...fuel an spark is ok but injectors not fireing.. Do i have to bypass the external resistor since i am using high resistance injectors?...thanks for any help.

Your problem isn't just the fact that the 93 injectors are high impedence and the 86 ones are low and require a resistor, but the ECU's are not designed to fire the other type of injectors. You've probably burned out the injector driver circuit in the 86 ECU. You've got two choices get another 86 ECU and transfer all the sensors and injectors from the original 86 engine and run it as an 86, or rewire the truck as a 93 which is major work.
If you need one I'm pretty sure that I've got my 86 22RE 5Spd. ECU kicking around here somewhere.
