Hey all,

I'm rebuilding my 22RE and I ordered the front oil seal direct from the Toyota dealership. The one they gave me (PN 90311-45014) is about half as thick as the original that I removed. What's up? I know that the oil pump was changed around 84 or 85 to have a thicker, taller front. I'm worried that this oil seal may not work as well. Any thoughts? The new seal sits recessed in the front of the oil pump whereas the old oil seal sat flush with the edge. I can't fit 2 of them on there and I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this problem?
Should I be concerned or just bolt her up and hope for the best? The dealership didn't have any other oil seals that are thicker. This is the only one that they carry for the oil pump on a 22RE.

Should be ok... I changed out the front main seal on my 84 22R a week or so ago and they gave me the thinner seal. Installed it and its working just fine.
