22re complete engine price?

Hey guys i talked about this before but not much. I have my 88 4runner with the 3.0 in it. I'm trying to restore my 4runner for a historical toyota value thing..... lets just say i love my truck and want it to be purtty. Anywho one part of my restorestion deal was to swap the 3.0 for the 22re just to have to most famous toyota motor and most durable motor in the world in my truck. less power yes but its kinda a sentimental thing. I'm ubsessed with toyota and yea most of ya'll are too. ANYWAY! Back to my original question. What does a complete 22re engine cost New? Used? Rebuilt? Would appreciate it guys.

salvage yards would probably be the best bet.
Cost wise, I'd expect to pay at least 2000 for a turnkey 22re with harness, ecu, etc.
You could almost by a whole running truck for that. Might even be a better option cause then you can get the rest of the driveline too.

you can look on craigslist also for the intake manifold and other misc parts, I see them on there all the time. You could even find a motor that needs to be rebuilt and go that route. If you don't have too much time into restoring your 4runner it might be better to find one with a 22re in it and go that way then you don't have to mess with motor mounts, wire harness, transmission adapters, and everything else, not to discourage you though, if thats your dream do it the way you want!
