22RE 5speed transmission issue

I'm having a problem with my 91 Toyota pickup 2wd, i just replaced the clutch and when doing so i had to disconnect the shifter. Well afterward the truck was shifting perfect but then about 150 miles after it started to get hard to shift into 3rd and 4th gear, I can get it in but i have to shift it to the left and right while pushing into the gear. any ideas what is wrong. shifter bushing???? its a little harder to get into the other gears but not a real noticeable amount.

Sorry if this is a repeat thread, I tried searching for my answer but could not find it.

We'll I took it apart and the greenish thing that the shifter ball sits on is in about 40 pieces. Is that the bushing?

Yep. Fish what you can out of there, it's plastic and rubber, so no biggie if some falls in. I used a shop vac. Then buy this: http://www.marlincrawler.com/transmi...ver-ball-seats
And this: http://www.marlincrawler.com/transmi...t-lever-socket
Then you'll never have to do it again!

That is the shifter seat. The bushing is the cup that goes on the ball on the end of the shifter

Could also be that the clutch you installed is not functioning correctly. If it's not totally dissengaging it could cause difficulty going into gear. Usually this is most noticeable at green lights when trying to go from neutral to first, but it's a possibility since the clutch was recently serviced. Check for proper free play adjustment in the pedal, make sure the hydraulic system is properly bled, and check for clutch pedal bracket fatigue.
