So at the back of the block on the passenger side there is a hole in the block that is supposed to be there that is one of a kind compaired to all the other water holes on the top. I accidentally dropped a piece of wood in this hole and I was wondering where this hole leads too. The hole is only visible with the head off. Thank you.

You have three posts on this right now BTW....might want to contact a moderator to delete the others.....

Also, your title offers no information: "22RE". Recommend next time posting something like "I dropped a piece of wood into an unkown hole while replacing the headgasket...." Something that explains better what you're dealing with but also gets folks' attention. Not saying this to be mean, but I've seen tons of these minimal-info postings on other forums and now a lot more here - help us help you faster, but giving more information up front

That said, I don't know the answer but would assume you want any holes on the head/block mating surface to be 100% clear of anything. Maybe try some compressed air to scare it out of there? Can you see it?

OK get a shop vac, empty it out clean. Then get the smallest nozzle on the suck end and go to town. With a spic and span clean vac you should see if the wood came out. Worked for me.
