if the o2 sensor was in the exhaust manifold you will need to put it back in the same spot.when i converted from a turbo engine i made the mistake of putting the sensor in the pipe by the converter.the problem is the 88 uses some sort of heat system to keep the sensor from fouling which my 86 didn't have. i ended up drilling and tapping the 88 manifold, after that it stopped the fouling problem and worked fine.
